Razer claims it's working with Android game developers like PUBG, Rival: Crimson x Chaos, RuneScape and others for optimizing their performance on the Razer Phone 2. A phone expected to be at the cutting edge of features cannot come with outdated OS. The Razer Phone 2 only comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Razer promising an over-the-air update to Android 9.0 Pie sometime later in the future. It's the best chip available on Android phones for 2018, but still inferior to Apple's A11 and A12 chip on iPhone X and iPhone XS and XS Max from this year. It still sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC - the same SoC sported by OnePlus 6, Google Pixel 3, and pretty much every other Android flagship launched this year. This is where the Razer Phone 2 starts to disappoint. To cope with heat dissipation, Razer Phone 2 even has a smaller version of Razer's vapor chamber cooling technology used on its Blade 15 gaming laptop, reports The Verge. It has a wide 12MP f/1.75 lens and a 12MP f/2.6 telephoto lens, along with dual LED flash, and the ability to record 4K video. There's also gigabit LTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and IP67 water resistance rating.Īfter the original Razer Phone suffered through heavy criticism for its camera performance, the Razer Phone 2 corrects all of that with a brand new dual-lens system. The Razer Phone 2 also includes a 4,000mAh battery which supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+. The Razer Phone 2 also sports 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM - more than enough to conquer any mobile game thrown at it. The 5.7-inch LCD display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is more than what you see on traditional phones - it's great for ensuring there aren't any frame drops while playing heavy games on your phone. The Razer Phone 2 is the company's latest attempt in this direction, to sell a gaming-focused Android smartphone to consumers.Īnnouncing the second iteration of last year's Razer Phone, the Razer Phone 2 is all about its screen. And it's trying hard to recreate its PC gaming magic for smartphones. When it comes to gaming device manufacturers, Razer is a trusted name known for quality gaming hardware.
