Christian in Maia Dolores and all his assistants, what a comfortable and enjoyable gourmet experience. I can only give them our greatest appreciation for their friendliness and their attention to detail. Comfy beds with nice smelling pillows? (you will find out) and service with a smile everywhere (Hand over heart to everyone (again you will discover the meaning of this) Call outs: Our two butlers Frida and Oscar - they couldn't have been nicer and took care of all our needs. Delicious food in every restaurant, wide variety of gourmet choices. Wonderful beach, no crowds, very little Sargasso, warm water, excellent service. Great music playlists throughout, beautiful architectural detailing everywhere, take the time to appreciate the artisan workmanship in every space, the wood detailing is remarkable. I won't reiterate the list of amenities you can find in other reviews but will comment on some of the intangibles and the highlight's: Pros: The place smells great, in all areas. This is an outstanding hotel in so many ways. Food was amazing and we love being able to order food to our beach or pool chairs!… Whoever decided to place then in front didn't think things through. This is a huge deterrent for a 3rd stay and beyond. You will only get to see the beach if you are in a bali bed. Now the bali beds are at the front of the beach and its absolutely terrible. We had a bali bed a few times and you could easily see the ocean from them through the chairs. Last time the bali beds were behind the beach chairs. Although the addition of the palapas was excellent, where the Bali beds are now placed is terrible. One day at the pool I was reaching to get money to tip and the waiter told me not to bother, my smile was enough! The only thing we did not like at all that changed was the beach. The entire staff at this resort deserves high praise! We enjoyed everyone we encountered. We just got back from our 2nd trip and it was even better than the first! We loved the addition of the Piccadillo Bistro and met up there before dinner. We absolutely recommend Atelier to everyone we talk to about our honeymoon. Course was fun to play, especially beautiful as you play towards the ocean. We also played a round of golf at their golf course as well. Each drink was custom made and complimented the food perfectly. We were sent a welcome drink when we first arrived which was delicious. We had everything from Tuna tartare, fried octopus, "sauceless" short rib pasta (phenomenal), suckling pig among other great dishes! Mario was our bartender for the evening. He made us feel so welcome taking us through the delicious food, course after course. We had the best dining experience at Maria Dolores! Roman took care of us through out the entire night. The party they put on was so much fun, the food, drinks, and the entertainment for the event was awesome! We really enjoyed all the restaurants and the hospitality. We were there during Mexican Independence weekend. They surprised us with Roses and a Bottle of Champaign. Oscar and Frieda were so attentive and extremely helpful throughout our trip. My Wife and I had a fantastic time here for our Honeymoon.
